Hansikaa's Priceless London Gift!

Remember Hansikaa Motwani? Yes the same child artiste turned Himesh Reshammiya's lead heroine of Aap Ka Suroor . Hansikaa was recently shopping in a mall in London and when she reached the cash counter she realized she had forgotten her purse behind! But luck was with her and a fan of hers was standing behind her in the queue and he offered to pay the money and when Hansikaa wanted to compensate the fan, he point blank refused, he told her that being her fan he could not take the money back.

But Hansika being a very fair and honest person took the fan and his wife to her hotel and made them wait while she went to the hotel room for the money.

But when she came down they had vanished leaving her a note which said, "Dear Hansikaa., I'm a very big fan of yours and please consider this as a gift from my side," Needless to say she was left speechless and this is one gift she will remember for the rest of her life.

Hannsikaa does a music video

Hannsikaa (spelling changed, courtesy numerology) who made her big-screen debut as a heroine with Himesh Reshammiya in Aap Kaa Surroor-The Moviee, has featured in a music video directed by Divya Khosla Kumar.

The video Ishq Na Karna was shot in Mumbai and is the third video from the album Phir Bewafaai, where Hannsikaa has been paired opposite Gaurav Kakkar.

The song has been sung by Agam Kumar Nigam along with Tulsi Kumar. Divya Khosla Kumar has already directed an earlier video Woh Kisi Aur Se from the same album.

Says Hannsikaa, "I loved doing this music video. It was a great experience. Of course, I am looking for films now, but this music video is set to rock."

Divya Kumar Khosla chips in, "When I heard Agamji's album Phir Bewafaai, it touched and entered my soul; it was so haunting. Most of us go through betrayal in love. This feeling was something both of us could identify with and I wanted to create something very emotional AND touching, thus I worked on the concept of Ishq Na Karna."

Phir Bewafaai is a compilation of 10 romantic ballads with moving compositions written by Praveen Bharadwaj and Prashant Vasl. The music director is Nikhil while the choreographer is Seemaa Desai. The Cinematography is by Vinod Gandhi. The album is produced by T-Series.

Aap Kaa Surroor : Movie Review

The movie, directed by Himesh’s longtime friend Prashant Chaddha, is not based on Reshammiya’s life. It is a fiction story that anyway answers some FAQs about the singer-musician.

In his acting debut, Himesh is too uptight before the camera. For the most part he wears a brooding look that has by now become quite typical of him. And the emotions that he expresses in the film are those of sadness, pain, anguish, helplessness and anger. In fact, after some time the movie begins to look like a vanity collage of Himesh Reshammiya.

‘Aap Ka Surroor’ tells the story of HR (Himesh), a rock star on a musical tour in Germany. He falls in love at first sight with Riaa ( Hansika Motwani ), the event manager of his concert.

On the other hand, there is Ruby ( Mallika Sherawat ), the partner of the organizer of the concert. Ruby is in love with HR. But he doesn’t reciprocate her feelings. He loves Riaa.

HR’s troubles begin with the murder of a TV journalist. The finger of suspicion points towards HR and he is arrested by Stuttgart police and put behind bars.

Convinced of HR’s guilt, Riaa’s father (Sachin Khedekar) fixes her marriage with another man. Now, HR has only one option: to run away from police captivity and find the real killer to prove his innocence before his ladylove is married off to someone else. Will he succeed?

‘Aap Ka Surroor’ is based on a wafer thin plot. On top of it, the film’s script and dialogues are very filmy. But director Prashant Chaddha makes the flick interesting by telling the story very stylishly and at a brisk pace. In fact, the film is akin to an outstretched music video that packs in different ingredients necessary for a masala entertainer: romance, music, drama and action.

The film’s USP is its music. Songs like ‘Asalaam Valekum’, ‘Tera Mera Milna’, ‘Tanhainyan’ and ‘Mehbooba’ are a delight to ears. However, the placement of ‘Mehbooba’ (with Mallika) could have been better.

While Himesh impresses as a music composer of the film, he fails to make any mark as an actor. He is stiff, he is conscious of the camera and he tries to act as if he has all the pain in the world. This act begins to look superficial after a while. Anyway, considering it is his first attempt at acting, some leniency should be shown in evaluating his performance.

Hansika Motwani is cute and gorgeous. Although she is confident in front of the camera, her acting skills need some polishing.

Mallika Sherawat looks sexy and plays her part of a vamp very well. The change in her character in the second half was unexpected.

Among other actors, Raj Babbar and Sachin Khedekar have very small roles. Shravan as Himesh’s sidekick is superb.

On the whole, ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ is worth a watch if you are a Reshammiya fan. The film’s story interweaves romance, mystery and thrills in a way that will appeal to the masses.

Rating: **1/2

His war can be stated as Individual versus the whole decadent system.

Inspired from real-life incident ‘Jaago’ has been woven around an incident of child rape in a Mumbai local train with many heart touching scenes. How should rape cases be dealt within the courts? Manoj Bajpai, Sanjay Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Puru Raj Kumar, Baby Hansika Motwani, Manoj Joshi, Mushtaq Khan, Pratima Kazmi, Raju Shreshta and Akhilendra Misra are in the cast. Hansika's Career

Hansika was supposed to make her cinematic debut as a child artiste in a film entitled Yahoo which also starred Juhi Chawla and Govinda, an offer she received from Chawla who recommended her to the director after noticing her acting capabilities. Unfortunately, the film was severely delayed and was shelved, permanently. Thanks again to Juhi, Hansika went on to do a Hyundai Santro ad with Shahrukh Khan. Soon after this, Hansika was bagged with offers, notedly from prominent Indian filmmaker Rakesh Roshan for a brief role in Koi... Mil Gaya, which also starred Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta .

She has also done several ad films for brands like Samsung Electronics, Bournvita and Pepsi and has said that she "loves doing ad films".

Prior to this, Hansika also acted in many Hindi soap operas like Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Sony TV's Hum 2 Hain Na, Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and Zee TV's Tum Bin, to name a few. She got her first big break after acting in Mehul Kumar's Jaago. The film, based on true events, told the story of a 10-year-old mentally challenged girl, who was raped on a local train on August 14, 2002. Though the film did not do so well at the box-office, it gained Hansika good reviews from all centres. She has also done films like Hawa and Escape from Taliban, which unfortunately, bombed at the box office.

Hansika later went on to do the Amitabh Bachchan starrer, Hum Kaun Hai?, a remake of the Hollywood film, The Others. She played Sara, the daughter of Dimple Kapadia character in the film who suffers from extreme photosensitivity. She also played a role in Dheeraj Kumar's Aabra Ka Dabra.

She also took part in Celebrity Fame Gurukul, a singing competition among some other celebrities for charity. Though she was not a very good singer, Hansika noted that she accepted to be a part of the show because she wanted to do something for the children of Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Hansika will be making her debut as a heroine in Puri Jagannadh's upcoming Telugu film, Desa Muduru opposite Allu Arjun. The film is about a crime reporter who falls in love with a sannyasi, played by Hansika. She also has a Hindi film entitled He: The Only One in where she will be essaying the role of a killer, hell bent on taking revenge for her family. She has also signed a Tamil film, Sarvam, directed by Vishnuvardhan which will be a youthful love story. Hansika has also recently signed another film, opposite Ravi Teja, titled Dubai Seenu.

Whats it about!

Bala Govindam (Allu Arjun) is a reporter with MAA Television. He plans to expose gudumba mafia in Dhoolpet. He sees Murugesh (Subbaraju), the son of local mafia leader Tambidorai (Pradeep Rawat), beating up a guy (Raja Ravindra). Balagovindam saves the guy and bashes up Murugesh who falls in a deep coma. Now the Tambidorai gang is on the lookout for Bala. His father (Chandramohan) advises him to runaway from the city for few days. He goes for Manali to cover a story. There he falls in love with a Sanyasini Vaishali (Hansika). He proposes to her. Initially she rejects his advances but later on draws towards him. Giving the juice to the story, the goons land in Manali and take away Vaishali. In a flash back it is revealed that Vaishali is not sanyaisni. Revealing of her past, and hero taking revenge forms rest of the film.

Analysis

Director Puri Jagannadh is known for presenting heroes as aggressive and care-for-damn guys. Likewise, he chooses titlu as titles. After stupendous success of Pokiri, when he is chosen Allu Arjun for Desamuduru, expectations rose. For Allu Arju brings high energy on to the screen that suits the Puris style. But what we get here is quite ordinary film.

With wafer thin story line, Puri tries to hold the viewers interest but doesnt succeed much. Desamuduru starts off decently with lighter romantic episodes in the first half, it goes haywire post the interval. Poor script is the major draw back. No novelty in the second half has changed the entire films result.

In breathtaking locations of Spiti, Manali and the Himalayan range, the film begins pleasantly. The script is too forcible. First half is okay. Had the second half is taut, it would have been different story. Desamuduru drifts into run of the mill mode towards the climax. Alis entire comedy episode (despite some suggestive dialogue and scenes) brings down the house. Frankly speaking, people would remember Alis (he does superbly and Puri Jagannadhs dialogues are fantastic here) comedy than any other thing else at the end of the film.

Performances

Allu Arjun has re-invented himself with building up muscled body much like Bollywood heroes. He looks dashing. He has tried hard to present himself stylishly and succeeds in that front. Allu Arjun should be commended for trying for complete change-over. But his efforts are marred by the weak characterization. However it is newcomer Hansika Motwani who catches the attention. She looks cute and bubbly. She has some serene quality on face that best suits for romantic films. She will go places.

The villains Pradeep Rawat, Telangana Shakuntala, Subbaraju have done neat job.

Technically, Sham K Naidu needs all praises. He shot the film brilliantly. Entire film looks so gloss and bright. Marthand Venkates edits efficiently. But he should have deleted two songs in the second half. Chakris music is okay. Two songs are good. Rest of them sound all similar. One is straight lift (including instrumentation) from Rehamans Dil Se.

Whats hot!

Comedy is highlight. Scenes of hero trying to seduce a Sanyasini are fresh. The locales of Spiti are eye-catching. Hero Allu Arjuns energetic acting style and Hansika Motwanis charm are hot.

Whats not!

Second half is monotonous. There is no soul in the story. The pace is also very slow at most times. If we put aside Alis comedy in the second half, the film looks hollow. The villain gang is shown spineless. Kovai Sarals character is irritating. If she really hates Sanyasi life, why should be there in the Ashram sulking and dreaming of men? Why's hero called Desamuduru, where does he really done 'muduru' acts?

Bottom-line

Critically speaking it is disappointment. Desamuduru would have been good had the second half is different. The first half and comedy are good despite some dj vu scenes. Commercially, it might be an average film. But again, Puris Pokiri didnt receive rave reviews but it turned out to be big hit. Will that magic work again? Lets wait and see.

Sourced From

Paap: The first half, particularly the romance between hero and heroine resemble to that of Pooja Bhatt directed Paap. The film was also shot in Spiti.
